Price the machine while it is still a concept.

Most machines are priced from a sketch, weeks before any design exists. Drawgen prices them from what similar modules cost on your finished jobs, and is plain about what it cannot price.

Step 1Enquiry review

Read the enquiry once, and ask the right question early.

Drawgen pulls out what matters for the price: throughput, sizes, environment, delivery. It lists what the customer has not said, so sales can ask before the quote rather than after the order, and it finds the closed jobs that look most like this one.

  • Requirements pulled from emails, specifications and attachments
  • What is missing, listed as questions for the customer
  • Similar past jobs, and why each one matches
EnquiryEnd-of-line palletising09:12

Hello, we are looking for an end-of-line palletising cell for two lines at 12 cases a minute each.

Cases are 400 × 300 × 250 mm, up to 14 kg, stacked on 1200 × 800 pallets. The cell sits in our wash-down area, so guarding should be stainless.

We would like delivery in 26 weeks. Could you send a budget price by the end of the month?

Step 2Priced lines

Every module priced from what it actually cost.

The machine is broken into the modules you already think in. Each one is priced from the actual cost of similar modules on your finished jobs, restated at this year’s rates, with your estimator’s rules applied. Bought-in lines become supplier requests. Lines with no history stay open.

  • Actual cost of similar modules, not old quotes
  • Your estimator’s rules and past misses applied
  • Supplier requests for bought-in lines, approved by your buyer

Step 3The quote

Your estimator sets the price, with the working open.

The cost basis goes into the quote with its sources attached. Your estimator fills the open lines, sets the selling price and approves what goes to the customer. The record keeps exactly what was quoted, so it can be compared with what the job costs later.

  • The selling price is always your estimator’s decision
  • The quote is kept as sent, never overwritten
  • Lost quotes are kept too, with the reason when you know it

EvidenceBehind every line

Where history runs out, Drawgen says so.

A machine that has never been built cannot be priced exactly. Drawgen shows the range similar jobs actually cost, the rules behind the number, and the lines no past job can support, so your estimator knows where to spend their time.
