ProductThe job record
One record per job, from enquiry to final cost.
The enquiry, the priced lines, the quote, the orders and the final cost of a job, kept together, with the source of every value. Your finished jobs price the next one.

Five stepsThree parts
Quoting, purchasing and post-costing, on the same record.
Quoting
The enquiry read and checked, each module priced from what similar modules cost, and the quote your estimator sets and signs.
QuotingSteps 2 and 4Purchasing
Supplier requests drafted from the record, and every offer checked against the quote and against what you last paid.
PurchasingStep 5Post-costing
Quoted against actual, module by module, when the job closes. Misses become rules, and the next quote starts from them.
Post-costingInside a recordFour versions, never overwritten
What sales had, what was quoted, what was bought, and what it cost.
A job record keeps four versions of the same job side by side. Only the concept, what sales had when the quote went out, is used to price. That keeps every comparison fair.
Concept
What sales had: the enquiry, a sketch or a slide, and the questions still open.
As quoted
Each line with its sources, the lines your estimator set, and the selling price they chose.
As bought
Every purchase order line, against the quote and the last price paid for the same thing.
As costed
Actual material and hours by module, the misses, and the rules they led to.
Every valueSays where it came from
Every value in a record carries its source and two dates: the date it refers to and the date it was learned. Costs say whether they are direct costs, loaded rates or selling prices, so nothing is compared on the wrong basis.
In controlPeople decide
It gives your team time and evidence, and leaves every decision with them.
Your estimator sets the price
Drawgen shows what similar jobs cost and where the evidence runs out. The selling price is always your estimator’s decision, and the rules stay theirs, written down and credited to them.
Your buyer approves every request
Supplier requests and orders are drafted from the job record and wait for a person. Nothing goes to a supplier or a customer on its own.
Your data stays yours
One database per builder. Your prices, costs and hours are never pooled with anyone else’s, and never used to price another builder’s jobs.
How it startsA first project
Start with jobs you have already finished.
Drawgen is early, and we are building it with a small number of machine builders. The first step is always the same: your own closed jobs, rebuilt, so you can judge the result on work you know.
- 01Pick five jobs you have closed
The quote and its calculation sheet, the purchase orders, the hours and the invoices, as they are. Spreadsheets and exports are fine.
- 02We link them into job records
Every value keeps its source. You get a plain report of what joined up, what did not, and what is missing.
- 03Your estimator walks us through the rules
In a few recorded sessions. The rules are theirs, confirmed by them, and they stay with you.
- 04We rebuild the five quotes from the concept alone
Then compare them with your original quotes and with what each job finally cost, on a measure you agree with us beforehand.
